ReadyWorks, Wood County Hospital’s occupational medicine program was developed to help balance the dynamics between the employer, employee, medical provider and insurer. The goal is to maintain employee health, prevent workplace injuries, return employees to work and reduce employer healthcare costs. Our services are designed to help you provide quality medical treatment to your employees, reduce Workers’ Compensation and absenteeism costs, provide a medical liaison for communication and coordination between the employer, physician, and employee and managed care organization.

Ready Works Services

Physical Exams

Pre-placement, Department of Transportation, respirator, fitness-for-duty, return-to-work, annual and executive physicals.

 

Acute injury/illness emergency care

Offering quick response time in the clinic and working together with the Emergency Department to care for serious and after hour injuries.  Our goal is to return the employee to work promptly. Second opinion examinations are also offered.

 

Rehabilitation designed to return your employees to work

We work closely with our Rehabilitation Services Department to offer many modalities to help return the employee to work.  Services include: ergonomic evaluations, conditioning, strengthening, work reconditioning, physical and occupational therapy, and back school.

 

Medical Surveillance

Blood and urine drug screens, biochemical screens, NIDA drug profiles, breath alcohol testing, audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing, OSHA mandated testing, respiratory fit testing, blood lead levels, hair collection, TB testing and X-rays.  Random selection services are offered at no additional charge. Drug and alcohol testing performed by certified technicians.

 

Health Screens & Education

ReadyWorks provides employee health screenings and educational programs designed to meet your needs to maintain a healthy workforce.  We offer a comprehensive range of screenings, audiometric testing, health risk appraisals, fitness evaluations and health education programs.

 

Preventive Medicine

Accidents do happen.  To prevent future illness we will provide immunizations for flu, Hepatitis B and tetanus. Worksite ergonomic programs for identification and prevention of possible cumulative trauma effects of the workplace are also part of our program.

 

Site Visits

The ReadyWorks physician and staff are available for workplace visits to meet employers, tour facilities and discuss services, concerns or other areas of interest.
